Carbondale ranked 693th in state in lottery ticket sales for April 2016

The City of Carbondale had the 693th highest lottery ticket net sales statewide per capita for the month of April 2016 -- down 23 spots from its March ranking.

The per capita lottery ticket sales in Carbondale was $10.80 per person.

Based on monthly sales records obtained by the Carbondale Reporter, Carbondale generated $285,101.50 in net sales from its 17 lottery retailers in April 2016, compared to $293,220 in April 2015.

The City of Carbondale is in Jackson County, and has a population of 26,399, according to 2010 census data. Neighboring municipalities are Carterville.

Average sales for municipalities in the region in April 2016 was $15,106.72.

Carbondale's top lottery retailer is Schnucks #722 located at 915 W Main St, Carbondale, IL 62901.

Schnucks #722 generated 14 percent of Carbondale's April 2016 lottery ticket sales and 8 percent of Jackson County's sales that month, which was $513,628.50.
