Marion City Council approves new hires

The city of Marion Council met Dec. 12 to approve new hires.

Here is the meeting's agenda, as provided by the council:

The Marion City Council includes elect four commissioners and a mayor who are responsible for city management and general functions.

NEW BUSINESS:

1. Representative from Azavar discuss/approve contract

2. Ordinance No. 3161 – An Ordinance vacating certain streets : a portion of Shane Lane and a portion of Autry Drive.

3. Ordinance No. 3362 – An Ordinance approving the Right of Way Dedication of Stanford Avenue from Autry Drive to Shane Lane.

4. Hub Recreation

a. Council approval of Logan Hunt, Part-time Wellness Attendant at $9.00 per hour.

b. Council approval of Melise Oakley, Part-time Body Pump Instructor at $15.00 per hour.

c. Council acceptance of the resignation of Erin Perry as full-time Membership Attendant.

d. Council approval of Abbie Shadowens increase to 29 hours per week to replace part of the duties created by the resignation Erin Perry.

e. Council acceptance of the resignation of Karleigh Williamson as full-time Sports & Recreation Coordinator, effective December 16, 2016.

f. Council approval of Rashad Rucker as full-time Sports and Recreation Coordinator, at $15.00 per hour, to replace Karleigh Williamson.

g. Council approval of Karleigh Williamson for part-time position to oversee volleyball over a ten-week period for approximately 5 hours per week at $20.00 per hour.

h. Council approval of construction of an office for General Manager at the cost of $10,281.40 to be paid by Hub TIF funds.

5. Council approval of recommendation of Lisa M. Wilson to Boyton Street Community Center Board.

6. Approval of change of street named Pyramid Park Lane or Ranch Lane, depends upon which map or GIS one uses (street that runs through Pyramid Park from Bevabeck Drive to Wildcat Drive) to Pharaoh’s Way.

7. Approval of Regular Council Meeting scheduled dates for 2017
