Herrin High School softball players Rebecca Moffett and Lexi Childers recently signed with the John A. Logan College (JALC) program for the 2017 season, according to www.jalc.edu.

Moffett, a shortstop, batted .451 as a junior with 51 hits, including 14 home runs.

Childers, a second baseman, batted .363 with 45 hits and 23 stolen bases.

The Lady Volunteers also added RikkiLyn Wright from West County High School in Park Hills, Missouri, to their 2017 recruiting class. Wright had a 19-4 record, with a 1.62 earned-run average as a pitcher and batted .560 with 38 RBIs and 31 runs.

This is the first recruiting class for Taylor Orsburn, who became the Lady Vols' head coach right before the fall semester. Last season, JALC went 30-20 overall and reached the quarterfinals of the Region 24 Tournament.
