Jackson County Zoning Exploration Subcommittee met Tuesday, Oct. 11.

ZONING EXPLORATION SUBCOMMITTEE

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2016 4:00 PM

JACKSON COUNTY COURTHOUSE

Call to Order (4:06 PM)

Members Present: Chapman, Erbes and Peterson

Also Present: Patty Weyhrich

Approval of Minutes

I. 16-1768 October 5, 2016 Minutes

A motion was made by Erbes, seconded by Peterson, to approve the October 5, 2016 minutes

as presented. The motion carried by unanimous vote.

II. 16-1769 Report of Findings Preparation

The subcommittee discussed creating an executive summary to present to the County Board at  the October meeting. Also they will be present at the Legislative & Public Safety Committee  meeting to inform them of the progress and plan for the summary. The subcommittee outlined  different sections they would like included in the summary; introduction, meetings, appendix,  observations and recommendations. Then the subcommittee discussed the list findings that  had been generated and decided which they would like included in the summary. The  subcommittee decided that each member would review the list of findings, expand on the ideas

they wanted to and submit their changes to the committee coordinator who would put the  summary together with the requested appendices.

Citizen Comments

Ms. Weyhrich spoke about the petition regarding CAFO's that was presented to the County Board in March 2016, protective zones  around sensitive areas, requirements for CAFO's, natural disaster planning and the cumulative effect of fertilizer.

Peterson moved and Erbes seconded to adjourn, motion carried.
