Anne West Lindsey District Library board reviews reports

The Anne West Lindsey District Library Board of Trustees met Aug. 23 to present the library director's report.

Here are the meeting's minutes, as provided by the board:

"Anne West Lindsey District Library Board of Trustees is located at 600 North Division Street, Carterville, IL, 62918."

August 23, 2016

All board members were present except Debbie Johnson. Staff members attending were Mary Stoner, Pam Alstat, and Dave Cole.

The meeting was called to order at 7 p.m. by board president Bill Slider and a quorum was determined.

The agenda was approved with a motion made by Jim Koonce; seconded by Elaine Miskell.

Minutes from the July 26, 2016 meeting were read and approved with a motion made by Butch Waggoner; seconded by Jim Koonce.

The financial secretary’s report was presented by Dave Cole and accepted with a motion made by Elaine Miskell; seconded by Pat Searcy.

The library director’s report was presented by Mary Stoner and accepted with a motion made by Butch Waggoner; seconded by Jim Koonce.

A motion was made by Butch Waggoner; seconded by Jim Koonce to approve Ordinance 16-02 concerning levying and assessing tax for the library district.

A motion was made by Sheri Hunter; seconded by Pat Searcy for the library to be used two Sunday afternoons (October 9 and 16) to pair Rotarians with students to collaborate on a book making project per the Rotary Grant.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:10 p.m. with a motion by Sheri Hunter; seconded by Elaine Miskell.

The next regular board meeting will be at 7 p.m. on September 27, 2016.
