Marion City Council considers state grant application

Marion City Council met Monday, Sept. 12.

The Marion City Council includes four commissioners and a mayor who are responsible for city management and general functions.

A. Discuss / approve revised Nuisance Ordinance 3350

NEW BUSINESS:

1. Shannon Johnson to present information about the eclipse to occur August 21, 2017 and to report Tourism’s increasing numbers.

2. Approve purchase of 2 complete station assemblies at a total cost of $9,188.00 and 2 pumps at a total cost of $4,816.00 from Municipal Equipment Company. The total invoice will be $14,004.00 plus shipping. Sewer Department.

3. Council approval of Downtown Restoration Loan to Charles Yacob for business at 112 E. Main Street.

4. Approve loan bid for Street Department plow truck.

5. Approve bid for lean to on Street Department barn.

6. Hub items to be approved.

A. Council approval of 7 part-time employees at the Hub Recreation Center.

Kylee Arnold, Membership & Café at $9.00 per hour.

Hunter Beasley, Lifeguard II at $9.50 per hour.

Benjamin Childers, Wellness Attendant at $9.00 per hour.

Katie Cully, Lifeguard II at $9.50 per hour.

Karee Johnston, Membership & Café at $9.00 per hour.

Janice Small, Wellness Attendant at $9.00 per hour.

Kareli Rodriguez, Membership & Café at $9.00 per hour.

B. Council Approval of Jared King to continue the role as Swim Lesson Coordinator and add the position of Pool Manager at a rate of $15.00 per hour.

C. Council approval of Mayor Butler’s appointment of Chris Georgantas as General Manager of the Hub at stated salary.

7. Council approval of Samantha Cattivera to fill a vacancy at the Marion Carnegie Library as a Librarian 1 at the pay rate of $11.00 per hour. This is a full time position.

8. Council approval of bids for Futiva entrance at Halfway Road. This is a TIF project.

9. Council approval of Bernard Paul to the Williamson County Airport Authority Board.

10. Discuss and approve Ricoh buyout of copier machines.

11. Resolution 2016-18 Resolution of Support for application to the State of Illinois for a Community Development Assistance Program grant.
