Marion City Council discusses nuisance ordinance

Marion City Council met Monday, Aug. 22.

The Marion City Council includes elect four commissioners and a mayor who are responsible for city management and general functions.

1. Discuss / approve revised Code Enforcement Nuisance Ordinance

2. Approve Manhole Lining bid. Sewer Department. Budgeted item and is not part of the TIF project.

3. Approve Sewer Televised proposals.

4. Approval to purchase 1-ton truck chassis equipped with dump bed and snow plow equipment. Two bids received for Truck chassis: Absher Arnold – Dodge truck with Cummins diesel $44,980.00; Marion Ford – Ford truck $44,961.00. Woody’s dump bed & snow plow $21,723.00. Street Department.

5. Approval to hire three part-time Hub employees.

6. Approval of Hub software upgrade.

7. Approval of proposal from Fowler Heating & Cooling to replace a compressor including some additional refrigerant and all labor – $7,672.00. Marion Cultural & Civic Center.

8. Approval to hire three part-time Marion Cultural & Civic Center employees to replace three who went back to college.

9. Ordinance 3349 – An Ordinance Considering approval/acceptance of Mack’s Subdivision.
