State Representative Dave Severin (R-Benton) recognized the contributions of certified surgical technologists during National Surgical Technologists Week. In a statement, Severin said, “Certified Surgical Technologists play a critical role in the operating room to ensure patient safety. This week, we honor these dedicated health care professionals and their educators, whose life saving work is often overlooked.”

Severin was elected as a Republican to the Illinois State House in 2023, representing the 116th House District after succeeding David Friess.
