State Senator Dale Fowler, along with State Representatives Paul Jacobs and Patrick Windhorst, will host two free Senior Health Fairs in southern Illinois later this month. The events are designed to connect local seniors with healthcare providers and service vendors offering health screenings, information, and prizes.

The first event is scheduled for September 23 at the HUB Recreation Center in Marion from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Representative Windhorst said, “Gathering dozens of healthcare and senior services vendors and inviting area seniors to attend this free event is an important way we can highlight the wide variety of healthcare and senior citizen services we have right here in southern Illinois. I’m proud to work with my fellow southern Illinois legislators to provide this opportunity for our local seniors.”

On September 24, another Senior Fair will take place at the Carbondale Civic Center from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Senator Fowler stated, “These senior fairs are a great way for local seniors to connect with services and providers all in one place. We want to make it easy for folks to get the resources they need. I’m looking forward to seeing familiar faces, visiting with everyone, and offering helpful services like flu shots and blood pressure checks.”

Representative Paul Jacobs also commented on the value of these events: “We really have a thriving healthcare industry in southern Illinois that provides people of all ages with top-notch care. This is an opportunity, especially for seniors in the area, to gather information from dozens of vendors, interact with providers, and take advantage of some free health care screenings. We’re looking forward to another great event.”

Both fairs will offer free health screenings and access to legislative brochures.

Jacobs was elected as a Republican representative for Illinois’ 118th House District in 2023, succeeding Patrick Windhorst.
