Anthony De Schutter has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week, according to an announcement from the conference on Thursday. This is the second time De Schutter has received this recognition, with his previous honor coming on February 13, 2025.
De Schutter began the 2025 season by posting a score of 212 (-4) at the Wildcat Invitational on Tuesday. He won the individual competition and contributed to Southern Illinois Salukis' third-place finish in the event. Among teams from the Missouri Valley Conference competing at the tournament, Southern Illinois ranked highest. De Schutter's victory marks the first for a Saluki golfer since Edouard Cereto won in April 2024.
The team will take a week off before resuming play on September 22 in Madison, Wisconsin.
