Southern Illinois University’s men’s golf team is set to open its 2025-26 season at the Wildcat Invitational in Manhattan, Kansas. The event begins Monday at the Colbert Hills Golf Course, hosted by Kansas State.

The Salukis will compete with a roster of five team members and one individual golfer. Representing SIU are Anthony De Schutter, Ben Keil, Jaesung Na, Cy Norman, and Blake Saffell, with Michael Mikus participating as an individual.

This tournament marks the first appearance for several new faces on the Saluki squad. Ben Keil is making his collegiate debut after redshirting during the previous season. Jaesung Na joins Southern Illinois as a transfer from Northern Colorado; last season he played 30 rounds and led his former team with a 73.5 stroke average. Blake Saffell is entering his senior year after transferring from Washburn University, where he posted a 72.64 stroke average and secured 10 top-10 finishes last year.

Michael Mikus comes to SIU as a freshman from Costa Rica. He recently won the 2024 Central American Junior Championship as an amateur.

Fans can follow live scoring of the tournament online. For further updates on Southern Illinois men’s golf, information is available through their official X (@SIU_MGolf), Facebook (@Saluki Men's Golf), and Instagram (@siu_mgolf) accounts.
