The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) has announced its Dick Howser Trophy National Player of the Week awards for the period ending May 11. The honors, presented by The Game Headwear, were awarded to Oregon State senior catcher Wilson Weber and Southern Illinois redshirt senior infielder Matt Schark as National Co-Hitters of the Week. Mississippi State junior right-handed pitcher Evan Siary was named National Pitcher of the Week.

Weber achieved a .471 batting average over the week, with an on-base percentage of .550 and a slugging percentage of 1.176. His performance contributed to Oregon State's successful week with a record of 3-0-1 against Hawaii and Iowa. Weber recorded four home runs, scored five runs, and walked three times while driving in 12 runs. Notably, he secured a game-winning run with his last hit during this period.

Schark made significant contributions to Southern Illinois' victories against Evansville by hitting five home runs over the weekend series. His achievements included setting a new single-season home run record for Southern Illinois with his 20th homer and tying the single-season RBI mark with his 70th run batted in. Schark ended the week with a .500 batting average and drove in 11 runs as Southern Illinois finished with a 3-1 record.

Siary delivered an impressive performance for Mississippi State by striking out a career-high 15 batters over eight shutout innings in their win against Ole Miss. He allowed six hits without issuing any walks during his longest career outing.
