Murphysboro High School, part of the Murphysboro Community Unit School District 186, recently celebrated the achievements of its student-athletes in girls' track. The school district serves Jackson County and includes several educational institutions such as Carruthers Elementary School and Murphysboro Middle School.

On May 8, 2025, Murphysboro High School extended congratulations to Shameria Joshua-Ayers for her recognition in the SIRR All-Conference Girls Track. The announcement was made through a tweet stating: "Congrats Red Devil, SIRR All-Conference Girls Track!!! Shameria Joshua-Ayers".

In another post on the same day, Hannah Rice was also acknowledged for her accomplishments in the SIRR All-Conference Girls Track. The school's message read: "Congrats Red Devil, SIRR All-Conference Girls Track!!! Hannah Rice".

Harper Ellermeyer joined her peers with similar accolades as announced by Murphysboro High School on May 8, 2025. The tweet stated: "Congrats Red Devil, SIRR All-Conference Girls Track!!! Harper Ellermeyer".

The Murphysboro Community Unit School District 186 is characterized by a diverse student body and staff demographics. It has a significant percentage of female teachers and invests considerably per student each year. The district also maintains a lower than average rate of chronic truancy compared to state levels.
