State Representative Dave Severin hosted two local women at the State Capitol in Springfield for the Illinois House Republicans’ annual Women to Watch Leadership Conference. This event brought numerous women leaders from across Illinois to engage in networking, panel discussions, and other activities within the Capitol.
Rep. Severin expressed his gratitude for the participation of Michaela Greathouse, of Greathouse Grazing Acres, and Wayne County Treasurer Yvette Anderson in the conference. “I am proud to know both Michaela and Yvette, as they are not only my constituents, they are outstanding leaders in their respective fields, and they deserve the recognition for their leadership and contributions,” Severin said. He noted the importance of their contributions to the conference, stating that their involvement improved the event.
Yvette Anderson currently holds the position of Wayne County Treasurer. She expressed her thanks to Rep. Severin for her inclusion, stating, “I am grateful to Rep. Severin for the opportunity to network with other leaders from the state of Illinois and to hear from some of our highest-ranking elected officials.” Anderson commended the House Republicans for organizing this conference, which aims to highlight women's significant roles in leadership throughout the state.
Michaela Greathouse, who runs a 120-acre farm with her husband in Albion, also found the conference beneficial. Previously recognized as the State Winner of the 2024 Young Leader State Discussion at the Illinois Farm Bureau’s Annual Conference, Greathouse values leadership development opportunities. She shared, “I was proud to join with Yvette and Rep. Severin in Springfield for this year’s leadership conference at the State Capitol in Springfield,” emphasizing the importance of learning from other leaders.
