Southern Illinois Men's Golf team concluded their participation in The Duck Invitational, securing a 10th place out of 15 teams. The event took place in Eugene, Oregon. The Salukis finished with a score of 866 (+14), while the University of Oregon emerged victorious with an overall score of 844 (-8).
Leading the Southern Illinois team was Anthony De Schutter, who achieved a commendable tie for eighth place with a total score of 209 (-4). De Schutter's performance included rounds one and two scores of 141 (-1) and an impressive final round score of 68 (-3), leaving him six strokes behind the tournament leader.
The other members of the Saluki team had varied performances: Oliver Ulrich tied for 39th with a score of 218 (+5), Carsen Silliman tied for 45th at 219 (+6), Leon Heitz finished tied for 55th with a score of 221 (+8), and Frank Bellino placed 65th with a score of 223 (+10).
Notably, Anthony De Schutter recorded under-par rounds, achieving -1 in round one and -3 in round three. Additionally, Oliver Ulrich posted an under-par second round at -2.
Looking ahead, the Salukis plan to take a brief break before participating in the Hoosier Collegiate scheduled for Saturday, April 5, in Bloomington, Indiana.
