Southern Illinois University swimmers Olivia Herron and Celia Pulido concluded their participation in the 2025 Women's NCAA Championships with notable performances, earning each of them All-American titles and setting multiple records.

Olivia Herron competed first at the national event on Thursday in the 200-yard individual medley. Although she did not advance to the finals, her preliminaries time of 1:56.46 won her heat and set new program and Missouri Valley Conference records. On Friday, Herron participated in the 100-yard breaststroke, again missing out on a finals spot but breaking both school and conference records with a time of 59.24 seconds.

Herron's final competition was on Saturday in the 200-yard backstroke preliminaries, where she achieved another school and MVC record with a time of 2:08.39. This performance earned her a place in the consolation finals, where she completed her race in 2:08.77, securing Second Team All-American honors.

Celia Pulido began her championship journey on Friday with the 100-yard backstroke. Her initial swim clocked at 49.84 seconds broke existing school and conference records and secured her a place in the championship finals. Pulido improved her time to 49.77 seconds during the finals, resetting both records again, finishing fourth nationally, and earning First Team All-American status for this event.

Pulido's last race took place on Saturday afternoon in the 200-yard backstroke, where she finished with a time of 1:52.82—just over half a second shy of surpassing her own school record from the previous season.

The swimming season continues as Alex Santiago will represent Southern Illinois at the Men's NCAA Championships next week, competing in several freestyle events as well as the butterfly.
