Murphysboro High School recently shared updates regarding their sports teams and a record-breaking performance by one of their athletes. The school's Twitter account, Murphysboro HS, provided details on the events.

On March 22, 2025, Murphysboro High School's baseball team faced a setback in Salem. According to a tweet from that day, "Red Devils fall at Salem. Back at home tomorrow against Monticello and Waterloo."

Later that day, the school celebrated an athletic achievement as Tyjaire Kellum set a new school record in track and field. A tweet posted on March 22 stated, "RECORD BROKEN: Tyjaire Kellum starts the outdoor Track season on a cold day in Cape Girardeau by setting the school record in the 100m (10.64) FAT. He breaks Karmelo Abernathy's previous school record of a year ago (10.69) FAT."

Additionally, another update was shared about the baseball team's ongoing challenges on March 22 with a tweet noting, "Red Devils fall in the first game. Waterloo up next."
