Health center program grant awarded for Franklin County healthcare improvements

U.S. Representative Mike Bost announced a $1.9 million grant from the Health and Human Services department aimed at enhancing medical care in Franklin County, Illinois. The funds have been allocated to the Christopher Greater Area Rural Health Planning Corporation to improve access to treatments, as well as support operational costs and staffing needs.

Bost emphasized the challenges faced by rural communities in Southern Illinois regarding healthcare services. He stated, "Many rural communities in Southern Illinois face are challenged to provide the full range of health care services to local residents." He further added that this funding will benefit Franklin County residents by expanding access to care and supporting medical professionals.

The grant aims to address healthcare accessibility issues within the region, providing essential support for both patients and healthcare providers.
