The Southern Illinois University men's golf team is set to participate in the Desert Mountain Collegiate in Scottsdale, Arizona. The event will take place from March 8, with the team playing 36 holes on Saturday and 18 on Sunday.

The Salukis will be represented by Anthony De Schutter, Frank Bellino, Leon Heitz, Lucas Lasley, Oliver Ulrich, and Cy Norman, who will compete individually. They are among the 17 teams competing in the tournament, which includes host Michigan and other universities such as Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Grand Canyon, James Madison, Kansas, Kentucky, Lamar, Miami (Ohio), Minnesota, Mississippi State, Oral Roberts, Pacific, Utah, UTEP, and VCU.

The competition will be held at The Outlaw Course. This Jack Nicklaus-designed course covers 7,107 yards and is a par-72 event.

Southern Illinois aims to improve their performance following a challenging outcome at the Lake Las Vegas Invitational. During that event in Henderson, Nevada, Anthony De Schutter and Frank Bellino were the top performers for SIU with finishes of 30th and 38th place respectively.

Fans can follow the match through live scoring updates.
