The Southern Illinois University women's basketball team is set to conclude its regular season with two home games against Bradley and Illinois State. The games will take place on Thursday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m., respectively, with the latter being Senior Day.
Both matchups will be available for viewing on ESPN+, while Larry Larson will provide radio commentary on NewsRadio WJPF 107.9 FM.
A Kids Club Bash is scheduled for Thursday's game, offering activities such as corn hole, board games, and sign-making for young fans. Additionally, children can receive a Kids Club t-shirt if they have not yet done so this season.
Saturday's game against Illinois State will honor three seniors: Tyranny Brown, Jeniah Thompson, and Se'Quoia Allmond.
Southern Illinois enters the final week of the regular season with a record of 4-23 overall and 2-16 in conference play. The Salukis are currently ranked 12th in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) but could finish as high as 10th depending on results.
Notable performances include Gift Uchenna breaking a single-season rebounding record previously held by Dyana Pierre. Uchenna has accumulated 342 rebounds and averages a program-record of 12.9 rebounds per game. She ranks second nationally in rebounding.
Kayla Cooper leads her team in minutes played per game (32.0) and steals per game (1.6). Isabella Palmqvist has made significant contributions from beyond the arc with 37 three-pointers this season.
Bradley comes into Thursday's matchup with an overall record of 12-17 and a conference record of 6-12. The Braves are ninth in the MVC standings and have recently secured victories over Illinois State and UIC.
Illinois State holds a stronger position with an overall record of 19-10 and a conference standing of 13-5. They could finish anywhere between first to fifth place based on upcoming results.
Historically, Southern Illinois has had success against Bradley with a series lead of 57-31 but trails against Illinois State at 46-68 all-time.
