Southern Illinois managed to shoot only 30% from the field and 25% from three-point range, while their free throw success stood at 70%. Turnovers were a significant issue for the Salukis, who ended the game with 22 turnovers compared to Belmont's 13. The Bruins capitalized on these mistakes by scoring 19 points off turnovers.

Belmont also dominated in rebounding, out-rebounding SIU by a margin of 51-27 overall and securing more offensive rebounds with a count of 19-6. Additionally, they outscored the Salukis in the paint with a tally of 42-20.

Throughout the game, Belmont maintained consistent offensive performance by scoring consistently across all quarters: posting a high of 19 points in the first quarter followed by three consecutive quarters each yielding 18 points.

In contrast, Southern Illinois was limited to nine points in each of the first two quarters, leading to a halftime scoreline of 37-18. Although they scored double figures in both subsequent quarters, they failed to exceed more than 15 points per quarter throughout the match.

Gift Uchenna led Southern Illinois with contributions of 13 points and five rebounds while Kayla Cooper added another twelve points. They were the only players from SIU achieving double figures during this encounter.

Looking ahead, Southern Illinois will prepare for their upcoming road game against Murray State scheduled for Saturday, March 1st at 2 p.m., marking their final away match for this regular season.
