Olivia Herron has been named the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Women's Swimmer of the Week for the second consecutive competition. Her recent achievements at Vanderbilt, where she broke two MVC records, have earned her this recognition.

This marks Herron's third time receiving this honor during the current season and her second consecutive win in recent competitions for the Salukis.

"Olivia continues to excel this season," said head coach Geoff Hanson. "Just when we think she has reached her peak, she finds another level. I am certain she has even more improvement coming at the conference championships in three weeks."

Herron played a key role in leading the Salukis to a 154-108 victory over SEC member Vanderbilt last Saturday. She participated in four events, securing first place in each while setting new MVC records. She began with a win as part of the 200-yard medley relay team. In individual events, Herron swam the 100-yard backstroke in 59.78 seconds, meeting NCAA "B" standards and establishing a new MVC record. She also met NCAA "B" standards in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:09.39 and set another MVC record in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:12.96.

In total, Herron achieved four first-place finishes, met three NCAA "B" standards, and set two new MVC records.
