Southern Illinois University has announced the addition of seven new transfers to its 2025 signing class. This includes five players from the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) and two from the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). The new recruits consist of three wide receivers, two cornerbacks, a defensive end, and an offensive lineman.
The latest additions will join a group that already features ten freshmen and one junior college transfer, previously revealed on December 4.
Among the new recruits is Dashaun Gibson, a redshirt freshman cornerback transferring from Northern Illinois. Originally from Manassas, Virginia, Gibson played in one game in 2024 at NIU. He was noted for his dynamic play at Mt. Zion Prep where he recorded over 800 receiving yards and three interceptions during his sophomore and junior years.
Naz Hill, another cornerback joining Southern Illinois, is transferring from Wyoming as a sophomore. Hailing from Kankakee, Illinois, Hill was redshirted in 2023 but managed to make one tackle in 2024. During his high school career at Kankakee HS, he was recognized as a three-star recruit by 247 Sports.
Jacob Katauskas joins as an offensive lineman after redshirting at Coastal Carolina in 2024. From Lemont, Illinois, Katauskas was ranked as a high school three-star recruit by On3 and 247Sports.
Wide receiver Jackson Parker is transferring as a senior from Albany after playing in 35 games over five seasons there. Parker has accumulated notable statistics including 94 catches for 1,224 yards and five touchdowns during his tenure with Albany.
Kyle Thomas arrives as a sophomore wide receiver from Northern Illinois. At Marian Catholic High School in Richton Park, Illinois, Thomas excelled both as quarterback and receiver.
Ty Walls also joins Southern Illinois as a wide receiver coming from Oklahoma State where he was a walk-on who redshirted in 2023 without seeing action in the following year.
Lastly, Donnie Wingate transfers as a junior defensive end from Lindenwood University where he played in 24 games across three seasons. His performance included totaling significant tackles and sacks during this period.
