Southern Illinois University guard Elijah Elliott will be sidelined for the rest of the 2024-25 basketball season due to a torn ACL in his left knee. The injury occurred during Friday's game against Florida, ranked No. 21.

"Elijah has been a tremendous teammate since he arrived on campus this summer," stated Southern Illinois head coach Scott Nagy. "It's a devastating injury for him and our program. He is still going to make a significant impact on our team this year through his leadership and I'm confident that he will come back even stronger and is going to have a bright future."

Elliott, a senior standing at 6-foot-1, had been averaging 14 points, 3.4 rebounds, and one steal over five games, starting four times as point guard for the Salukis.
