The Southern Illinois Men's Golf program has announced the addition of Cy Norman to their team. Head Coach Justin Fetcho expressed enthusiasm about the signing, stating, "We are excited to welcome Cy back home to Southern Illinois." He highlighted Norman's impressive high school and junior career in the region.
Norman, a native of Benton, Illinois, will join the Salukis for the upcoming spring season. He transfers from the University of Central Florida with four years of eligibility left. His accolades include being a two-time AJGA Champion and the 2021 IHSA 2A State Champion. Additionally, he achieved six top 10 performances in AJGA events.
Coach Fetcho praised Norman's qualities: "Cy has a competitive mindset and is a hard worker, those are two attributes that we value highly in our program." He added that they anticipate Norman making an immediate impact due to his background and experience.
During his high school career, Norman had an 18-round scoring average of 69.4 strokes and achieved two hole-in-ones in one round.
