Southern Illinois University center Chase Evans has been named to the Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) Scholar-Athlete first team, as announced by the league. Evans, a graduate student from Mason, Ohio, maintains a perfect 4.00 GPA while pursuing a master's degree in business administration at SIU.
During the 2024 season, Evans earned honorable mention All-MVFC status. He started all 12 games at center for Southern Illinois and was recognized as the team's most efficient blocker. His performance included 21 knockdowns and no sacks allowed throughout the season.
Evans has made 50 starts in his career and was named MVFC Offensive Lineman of the Week following Southern Illinois' victory over nationally ranked Incarnate Word on September 14. This marked the second time he received this accolade.
