Murphysboro High School, through its official social media account, shared updates and achievements related to its sports teams and students. The tweets from December 5, 2024, highlight the school's recent accomplishments in basketball and a student's future academic plans.

On December 5, 2024, Murphysboro High School announced that the Red Devils Boys Basketball Team secured their second victory at the DuQuoin Tournament against Chester with a score of 60-37. The team currently holds a record of two wins and no losses. "Red Devils Boys Basketball Team wins 2nd game at the DuQuoin Tournament vs. Chester, 60-37 (2-0, 0-0)."

In another tweet on the same day, Murphysboro High School extended congratulations to Ayla Smith for her decision to continue her softball career at St. Charles Community College. "Congratulations to Ayla Smith on continuing her softball career at St. Charles Community College."
