Southern Illinois University (SIU) football team has announced the signing of ten new players on National Signing Day. Head Coach Nick Hill revealed that the class includes nine freshmen and one junior college transfer.
"Most of these guys have been committed for some time now, guys that we've recruited since their junior year and evaluated and seen in camps," said Hill. He emphasized the importance of forming strong relationships with recruits to ensure a good fit for both parties.
The class is expected to expand further after the NCAA transfer portal opens on December 9. "Things are about to really get cranked up," Hill stated, highlighting the continuous nature of recruiting efforts.
Among the new recruits is Patrick Carr from Louisville, Kentucky, who recorded impressive stats as a tight end at Fern Creek High School. Coach Hill praised Carr's size and athleticism.
Jah Carter from Canton, Ohio, joins as a wide receiver with notable achievements at Massillon Washington High School. "He's a dynamic player and excited to add his explosiveness to the room," commented Hill.
Chandler Chapman, transferring from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, brings experience as a running back. "He's going to have an opportunity to come make an impact on our team," said Hill.
