Illinois marks its journey to becoming the 21st state

On December 3, 1818, Illinois was officially recognized as the 21st state in the United States. The state has since played a significant role in innovation and economic development within the Midwest region. "Happy Statehood Day to the great state of Illinois!" expressed Rep. Jacobs in celebration of this historical milestone.
