Southern Illinois volleyball hosts Drake and UNI for senior weekend

Southern Illinois University's women's volleyball team is set to host Drake University and the University of Northern Iowa for their senior weekend in Carbondale, Illinois. The matches are scheduled for Friday against Drake at 6 p.m. and Saturday against UNI at 5 p.m.

In their series history, Southern Illinois holds a 45-31 lead over Drake. However, the Bulldogs have won the last eight encounters, including a 3-0 victory earlier this season on September 28. Against UNI, the Salukis trail with a record of 13-68 and have not won since September 23, 2016.

Key players for Southern Illinois include Anna Jaworski, who ranks second in school history with 3,656 assists. Larissa Seger is tenth in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) with a hitting percentage of 29.5%, eighth in total blocks with 89, and seventh in blocks per set at 0.88. Annabelle Sulish stands eighth in total points within The Valley with a score of 349.5.

Cecilia Bulmahn made headlines by tying for The Valley's highest number of aces in a three-set match this season with seven during an October 12 game against UIC. She also ranks seventh in digs per set at an average of 3.96.

The Salukis have shown resilience in five-set matches with a record of six wins to three losses. They hold the MVC high for kills and attack percentage in such matches, recording 78 kills, 78 assists, and an attack percentage of 30.4% during an October 19 game against Indiana State.
