The Missouri Valley Conference has announced its 2024 Swimming and Diving Scholar-Athlete Team, which includes eleven athletes from Southern Illinois University (SIU). Among the SIU Salukis recognized, one athlete achieved a perfect 4.0 grade-point average.

The honored athletes from Southern Illinois are Audrey Leno with a GPA of 4.0, Melanie Scheiblein with 3.99, Hadley Wyatt with 3.92, Hannah Connolly with 3.91, Brooklyn Anderson with 3.91, Ella Kerr also with 3.91, Bea Padron with 3.87, Olivia Herron and Jasmine Rau both with 3.83, Ali Robertson with 3.77, and Farida Moussa with a GPA of 3.73.

To qualify for the Scholar-Athlete honors in the MVC swimming and diving category, an athlete must meet specific criteria: they need to have competed in the Swimming and Diving Championship while maintaining a minimum GPA of either 3.5 along with all-conference honors or a GPA of at least 3.7 for All-Conference Honorable Mention recognition; alternatively, they can participate in the MVC Championship while holding a GPA of at least 3.9.

In total, the MVC recognized sixty-seven athletes on its swimming and diving scholar-athlete team this year.
