The Southern Illinois University swimming and diving teams are set to face Missouri State in the "Dual in the Dale" meet this weekend. The event will take place at Shea Natatorium, with competitions scheduled for Friday, October 4 at 3 p.m. and Saturday, October 5 at 10 a.m.
"We are very much looking forward to the Dual in the Dale versus Missouri State this weekend. When our two teams get together it always produces some great competition and brings out the best in both squads," said head coach Geoff Hanson.
The Southern Illinois women's team recently secured their first win of the season with a commanding 230-60 victory over McKendree. Meanwhile, the men's team is still seeking their first win after falling short against McKendree. Notably, the Salukis achieved 13 first-place finishes during that meet.
Missouri State's women's team has been predicted to finish first in the preseason poll, while their men's team is expected to finish second. This upcoming meet marks their first competition of the season.
Historically, this will be the 28th meeting between the women's teams, with Southern Illinois leading the series 14-13. For the men's teams, it will be their 25th encounter, with Missouri State holding a lead of 15-9.
