City of Genoa Economic Development Commission met Oct. 8.

Here are the minutes provided by the commission:

Nick Bradac called the October 8, 2024 City of Genoa Economic Development Commission Meeting to order at 9:09 A.M.

On roll call, members Nick Bradac, DeaLynn Stone, and Matt Hoffman were present; Alyssa Seguss, City of Genoa was also present.

The Economic Development Commission moved on to Old Business. Matt Hoffman moved and DeaLynn Stone seconded to approve the minutes of the September 10, 2024 meeting. Upon voice vote, all members present said aye.

New Business:

A. Review Venn Diagram- The EDC reviewed the venn diagram created based on the conversation from the September 10, 2024 meeting. The EDC would like to slightly reword some of the items within the venn diagram and also turn the circles into cogs to relate back to an undetermined slogan.

B. Accelerator Mentorship Program – AMP- Reviewed and approved the outline. The EDC Chair will share this program as well as the draft venn diagram with the City Council at their October 16th meeting. The EDC would like a brief one page questionnaire that the prospective business would fill out prior to being referred to SCORE.

C. Review the Purpose and Goals of the EDC- The EDC reviewed their purpose and goals and feel no amendments are needed and that they are on target.

D. Updates from the Chair: None at this time.

E. Updates from Staff: City Administrator Seguss shared a memo of ongoing economic development and community development activities.

F. Next Meeting Agenda: At the next meeting on November 12, 2024, the Economic Development Commission finalize the AMP/ incubator program questionnaire and review the venn diagram changes.

Motion to Adjourn:

There being no further business, Matt Hoffman made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:50 AM, seconded by Nick Bradac. Upon voice vote, all members present said aye.
