Southern Illinois women's golf finishes fall season at Diamante Intercollegiate

Southern Illinois University's Women's Golf team concluded its regular season at the Diamante Intercollegiate in Hot Springs, Arkansas, finishing in 16th place. The Salukis achieved a notable performance in the second round by shooting 294 (+6), marking the program's 13th-lowest round in its history and the lowest since October 2019.

Kayla Sayyalinh was instrumental during this historic round, achieving one-under par with 71 strokes. Pihla Pennanen led the team overall, tying for 34th with a score of 221 (+5).

The final standings for the Saluki golfers were as follows:

- Team: 16th place, scoring a total of 913 (+49)

- Pihla Pennanen: Tied for 34th, with a score of 221 (+5)

- Kayla Sayyalinh: Placed 47th, scoring 223 (+7)

- Kylee Vaughan and Calli Smith both tied for 89th place with scores of 236 (+20) each

- Morgan Gindler finished in 96th place with a score of 241 (+25)

The Saluki Women's Golf team will now take a winter break and resume play in February.
