Southern Illinois cross country concludes regular season at Bradley Pink Classic

Southern Illinois University's cross country teams concluded their regular season at the Bradley Pink Classic in Peoria, Illinois, on October 18. The women's team was led by Hannah Meiser, who finished 65th out of 259 runners and improved her personal best in the 6K by 40 seconds.

Head Coach Angelina Ramos expressed satisfaction with the team's performance. "When these women train, they train together and have shown so much strength and development across these last few weeks," she stated. "We wanted to carry what we do well in training together to the race and translate that over."

On the men's side, Weston Jokerst was the top performer, completing his run in 25:18.82.

The men's results were as follows:

- Weston Jokerst: 129th | 25:18.82

- Uriah Guthrie: 158th | 25:30.72

- Ben Chance: 246th | 26:53.66

- Ben Morgan: 265th | 33:59.53

The women's results included:

- Hannah Meiser: 63rd | 21:30.69

- Audrey Boles: 169th | 22:48.56

- Britany Zeimer: 182nd | 22:57.68

- Riley Linville: 207th | 23:23.25

- Brianna Nieset: 215th | 23:29.56

- Brodie Denny: 232nd | 23:54.85

- Kyla Engel: 257th | 25:14.29

"They're piecing their race skillsets together better each time out," said Ramos about her team’s progress and preparation for upcoming events.

The Salukis are now set to prepare for the Missouri Valley Conference Championships scheduled for November 1 in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
