Sophia Schlicklin of the Southern Illinois University women's soccer team has received weekly honors from the Missouri Valley Conference, as announced today by the league.
Schlicklin was named Freshman of the Week for the second time this season.
Schlicklin scored two goals against North Alabama on Thursday, Sept. 5. Her first goal came in the first minute and a half of play, putting the Salukis up 1-0 early. She scored her second goal in the 51st minute, giving SIU a 3-1 lead and victory.
Schlicklin has played in all seven games this season and has started in five. The freshman currently leads the team in goals with four.
