The Southern Illinois University women's soccer team (3-2-2) was defeated by Lindenwood, 1-0, on Sunday.

"Obviously disappointing to lose a game, I thought a draw would have probably been a fair result. But at the same time, we didn't do enough to deserve to win it," head coach Graeme Orr stated.

In the first half, neither side managed to score. Although the Salukis out-shot the Lions 5-1, the score remained 0-0 at halftime.

In the second half, Lindenwood's Georgia Pardalos scored the only goal of the match. Despite Southern Illinois out-shooting Lindenwood 10-5 in this period, they failed to equalize, resulting in their first home loss of the season.

"I just felt today we didn't have enough forward drives, so all of our play was kind of in front and nice at times but we've got to look to get more forward runs and penetrate and get into situations where we can impact the attack," Orr said.

Fabiana Solano made two saves while Dana Cruz led the team with three shots.

The Salukis will continue their home stretch on Thursday night against Southern Illinois-Edwardsville at 6 p.m.
