State Senator Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro) has strongly criticized the passage of Senate Bill 2412, which brings significant changes to Illinois' election process in the middle of the ongoing election cycle.

In a statement, Senator Bryant expressed her concerns, stating, "If you ever wanted proof of an attempt to steal an election, you found the perfect example with Senate Bill 2412." She highlighted the speed at which the bill was pushed through, noting, "This massive change to our state’s election process was filed and passed out of the General Assembly in just 24 hours."

Senator Bryant also raised questions about the motivations behind the rushed process, suggesting, "You may ask why the rush? Well, the answer is simple – it is to ensure that the Majority Party’s preferred candidates can avoid having to face the people this November."

Concluding her statement, Senator Bryant condemned the legislation, calling it "an absolute abuse of power by Democrats and without a question undemocratic."
