WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Mike Bost (R-IL) has strongly criticized President Biden's State of the Union Address in a recent statement. Bost described Biden's speech as "less a State of the Union than it was a State of Delusion," highlighting his concerns about the President's address.
According to Bost, Biden's speech failed to resonate with the American people, with the Representative stating, "Biden took a victory lap for an economy the American people have no faith in and celebrated a legislative agenda that’s already failed." Bost also criticized Biden's prioritization, noting, "He made securing America’s border his 17th priority, soon after Snickers bars and fixing online concert ticket sales."
Bost emphasized the significance of the address for Biden, saying, "This was Biden’s last big chance to convince the American people he deserved four more years in the White House." However, Bost believes that instead of offering a compelling case for re-election, Biden's speech was filled with "divisive political rhetoric, class warfare, and clear proof that he’s completely out of touch with the priorities of Southern Illinois’ working families."
The response from U.S. Rep. Mike Bost reflects a strong stance against President Biden's recent address, highlighting concerns about the economy, legislative agenda, and priorities outlined in the State of the Union.
