State Senator Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro) expressed her support for the U.S. Supreme Court's recent unanimous decision to overturn rulings by activist judges. The court's 9-0 ruling reversed the Colorado Supreme Court's decision to remove Donald Trump from the Colorado state ballot, as well as a similar decision made by a Cook County Judge.

Bryant commented, "I am encouraged by the U.S. Supreme Court’s unanimous ruling to overturn the Colorado case that led to a Cook County activist judge’s decision to remove Trump from the Illinois ballot. The fundamental foundation of our state and nation’s democratic system is the right of the people to choose their elected officials. I am pleased to see our nation’s Supreme Court recognize and respect this fact."

The Senator's statement reflects her belief in the importance of upholding the democratic process and ensuring that voters have the ability to select their preferred candidates without undue interference from judicial activism.
