Unity Point Community Consolidated School District 140 Board will meet Feb. 15.
Here is the agenda provided by the board:
Persons who do not plan to attend the meeting in person and wish to make a public comment can do so by submitting their public comments ahead of the meeting to Dr. Lori James-Gross, Superintendent, via e-mail at ljgross@up140.org with the subject “Public Comments for 2/15/24 Board Meeting.” These submitted comments will be read aloud during the meeting in accordance with Board Policy.
The Zoom broadcast will begin around 5:50 p.m. ahead of the regular meeting at 6:00 p.m. to allow everyone who may wish to join time to work out any technical difficulties. The Board of Education will end the Zoom broadcast after we have officially adjourned the meeting.

Regular Board of Education Meeting
The regular meeting of the Board of Education of Unity Point School District #140 will be held in the Library at Unity Point School on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 6:00 PM. An Executive Session will be held during the course of the meeting to consider the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body and to discuss student disciplinary cases. Action on items discussed in closed session is anticipated.

Approval and Seating of New Board Member
*The Board will approve and administer the IASB Oath of Office to the new member replacing Dr. Robin Warne, who resigned at the December 2023 board meeting. The term of this office will extend through April 2025, the date of the next board election.
Election of Board Officer--Vice-President
*The board will hold an election to fill the vacant vice presidency left by Dr. Robin Warne's resignation.
Recognition of Guests and Visitors/Public Comment
The Board of Education welcomes the audience to make public or employee comments. The Board has set aside time in the agenda specifically for this purpose. Pursuant to Board Policy 2.230, each speaker shall be limited to a 5- minute presentation. Please be aware that while this is the time for the public to express its opinions and/or concerns, the Board may or may not comment regarding public presentations. If a matter of public comment warrants discussion or action of the Board of Education, such discussion or action will be added to the agenda for a future meeting.
Approval of 2023-2024 Seniority Lists
*The tentative Seniority List for 2023-2024 has been reviewed and amended as necessary. The list was posted in the building and given to UPEA in accordance with the Illinois School Code deadline of February 2, 2024. As part of that requirement, the Board of Education must approve the final list as presented. Following the board meeting, a final posting will be made available to the UPEA.

*The Board needs to discuss using stakeholder meetings and other optional IASB services for the Superintendent search.
