Windhorst: 'Are you a baseball fan looking for a fun opportunity for part time work this summer? The Thrillville Thrillbillies may be looking for you'

In an April 12 Facebook post, Rep. Patrick Windhorst shared a duo of job fairs where the Thrillville Thrillbillies will be hiring.

“Are you a baseball fan looking for a fun opportunity for part-time work this summer,” he wrote. “The Thrillville Thrillbillies may be looking for you! An upcoming job fair at Mtn. Dew Park is offering opportunities for everything from concessions to the entertainment team.”

KFVS reported the Thrillbilles are hosting a coloring contest for kids.

“Kids from fifth grade and younger are encouraged to complete the contest coloring sheet that includes the Thrillbillies official jersey logo as well as the rabbit and deer logos. We’ll choose several winners, and their drawings will be featured on an official game day jersey at Mtn Dew Park on June 21st for Kids Run the Ballpark Night,” Lauren Surprenant, Thrillbillies manager of sales and partnerships, said in the release, KFVS reported.

Windhorst was first elected to the Illinois House in 2018. A Republican, their legislative experience includes serving on the Restorative Justice Committee and Judiciary - Criminal. Windhorst is a state representative who resides in Metropolis, according to the Illinois House.

Vote Smart noted Windhorst voted against requiring public schools to teach about prominent LGBT-plus figures and didn’t vote to require women and African Americans on corporate boards.

If you haven't heard of the Thrillville Thrillbillies, they're a Prospect League team in Marion, Illinois, They play at Rent One Park, and have been members of the Prospect League since 2023.

"From large concerts, like Brandley Gilbert and Luke Combs, to community events, like PBR Bull Riding, Nitro Circus, and the Colt World Series, Mtn Dew Park, formerly Rent One Park, has brought some exciting events to Southern Illinois since the ballpark opened its doors in 2007," a news release from Oasis Outdoors stated, WSILTV reported. "And, in 2023, baseball returns to Mtn Dew Park with the Thrillville Thrillbillies, a wood-bat collegiate summer baseball league."

The team is looking to hire seasonal employees from concessions to team mascot, entertainment team and for those 21 and older, bartenders.
