Black History Month is a powerful reminder of the heritage
Black History Month is a powerful reminder of the heritage, accomplishments, and impact that Black Americans have had on our world. It is especially relevant to healthcare providers because we care for people from every race and culture at the bedside, and we see firsthand the racial disparities that exist in health care.
Instead of using this month to just recognize past and present Black American heroes, let’s all look at February as an annual nudge to start (or continue) doing meaningful work to create more equity.
