Nutrition – Low Sodium Eating Tips Class
Sodium is a mineral found in many foods, especially salt. Eating too much salt causes the body to keep or retain too much water, worsening the fluid buildup that happens with heart failure. In this class a registered dietician will review the different levels of sodium restrictions and how to adjust foods purchased to meet each participant’s low sodium diet restriction.
Appeals to: Adults desiring information regarding how to manage their sodium intake by reading food labels; Adults wanting to gain awareness of “hidden” sodium foods.
