6.33 Superintendent – Janice Pavelonis

• Carbondale Park District - Open House will be November 4th from 4- 7pm at the Lakeland Center.

• Board Meetings - The November and December board meetings have been moved up due to holiday breaks.

• Triple I Conference - Markida Roper will attend as the Board Delegate. 6.4 Faculty Council - Stephanie Solbrig reported on the following:

I was able to meet with Michelle Martin on Monday, October 24. She shared that at this time, all teachers should have curriculum materials with the exception of Lewis, where teachers still await math manipulatives which are still on order. Additionally, since we are no longer purchasing Moby Max as an online learning tool, Ms. Martin said she will look at Clever to see if there are any math Fact Fluency apps within it we might use to replace that one Moby Max component that was very popular with some grade levels in the district.

Across the district, teachers are very busy having just completed conferences and approaching midterm of 2nd quarter quickly. Throughout the district teachers continue reteaching target behaviors for school success though in several pockets of the district, teachers and administrators are being stretched to address what is reported as a rise in misbehaviors causing tensions to run high. With Halloween falling on Monday next week, teachers are digging deeply into their toolboxes and thinking creatively to help plan for the most successful week of learning possible, with many activities centering around the season. In fact, some buildings are kicking off the weekend with after-school activities Friday to ensure students have a fun and safe start to this year's trick or treat time.

Lastly, cleaning issues in some pockets of the district are not entirely resolved but teachers are being encouraged to once again report it in the online document. So, with a little more time, hopefully that process will help to remedy the residual concerns.
