Williamson County Board of Commissioners met March 30.

The Williamson County Board of Commissioners met at 1:15 p.m. at the Williamson County Administrative Building Boardroom, Marion, Illinois, in a meeting of the Williamson County Board of Commissioners with the following members present:

Jim Marlo, Chairman

Brent Gentry, Commissioner

Tim Atkisson, Commissioner

Discussion had by Commissioner Gentry of a Letter of Support for Frontier.

Recycling contract with Progress Port is ready to be put on the next agenda to be voted on.

Authorization for Hazard Pay for First Responders Paid by ARPA. Motion made by Brent Gentry to give $2500 to First Responders and $1000 to all other County employees. Motion died due to lack of a second.

Motion made by Tim Atkisson and seconded by Brent Gentry, approving Road Extension Project Invoices. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Tim Atkisson, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Tim Atkisson and seconded by Brent Gentry, approving two backhoes with a trade in for the amount of $175,106. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Tim Atkisson, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Tim Atkisson and seconded by Jim Marlo, approving RESOLUTION NO. 22-03-30-15 RESOLUTION FOR IMPROVEMENT UNDER THE ILLINOIS HIGHWAY CODE FOR SPILLWAY ROAD OVER LITTLE GRASSY. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Tim Atkisson, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Brent Gentry and seconded by Tim Atkisson, approving Letter of Resignation from Kelly Norris, EMA Director. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Tim Atkisson, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Tim Atkisson and seconded by Brent Gentry, approving Amendment No. 3 to the Enterprise Zone Intergovernmental Agreement. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Tim Atkisson, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Tim Atkisson and seconded by Brent Gentry, approving Resolution for State’s Attorney’s Appellate Prosecutor. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Tim Atkisson, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Tim Atkisson and seconded by Brent Gentry, approving ORDINANCE NO. 22-03-30-04 AN ORDINANCE TO ADD TERRITORY TO THE WILLIAMSON COUNTY ENTERPRISE ZONE. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Tim Atkisson, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Tim Atkisson and seconded by Brent Gentry, approving a travel reimbursement for Alex Simpson in the amount of $437.45. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Tim Atkisson, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Brent Gentry and seconded by Tim Atkisson to move into Executive Session at 2:40 p.m. siting 5ILCS 120/2 (c)(2). Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Tim Atkisson, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Went back into regular session at 3:38 p.m. Roll call: Jim Marlo, Present; Brent Gentry, Present; Tim Atkisson, Present.

Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Brent Gentry, approving Authorization for Hazard Pay for First Responders Paid by ARPA. First Responders will get $3,000 and all other County Employees will receive $1500. Part time employees will get half of these amounts. The payment will come in two tranches, starting on April 22, 2022 in the form of a paper check. The second payment will be no later than 30 days after receiving the second amount from the State. You must’ve been employed on March 8, 2022 of this year to qualify for payment. Elected officials, salaried or temporary do not qualify. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Tim Atkisson, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Tim Atkisson, approving Authorization for Hazard Pay for County Employees Paid by ARPA. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Tim Atkisson, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.
