The second half of 2021: Home prices in Makanda increased

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2021 in Makanda rose by $25,750 while total sales increased by 14.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2021, there were eight homes sold, with a median sale price of $185,750 - a 16.1% increase over the $160,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were seven homes sold in Makanda in the second half of 2020.

The median sales tax in Makanda for the most recent year with available data, 2019, was $2,828, approximately 1.5% of the median home sale price for the second half of 2021.
