Administrative professionals were thanked last week by Illinois Senate Republicans including state Sen. Dale Fowler (R-Harrisburg) in honor of Administrative Professionals Day.
In an April 21 video posted by the Illinois Senate Republican Caucus, the legislator acknowledged his two administrative assistants.
"I am excited to take this opportunity to say thank you to my administrative assistants Dana and Andy for all that you do to serve the constituents of the 59th District," Fowler said.
Fowler was recently in the news for his frustration regarding Gov. J.B. Pritzker's budget and what he feels is a lack of consideration for small businesses.
“Illinois needs a budget that fights for our business community and works to create economic opportunity,” Fowler said in a Feb. 19 SE Illinois News article. “Especially here in Southern Illinois, where the backbone of our business community is locally-owned, small businesses. We have to be committed to providing relief and assistance to those who were hit hardest by repeated shutdowns and rigid restrictions.”
The U.S. has been celebrating Administrative Professionals Day in some shape or form since World War II.
The first National Secretaries Day was organized in 1952. Over the years, the name changed to Professional Secretaries Day. In 2000, the International Association of Administrative Professionals announced that name would be changed to Administrative Professionals Day.
