Gorham Volunteer Fire Department responded to 16 calls in 2018 - 60 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Gorham included 15 fires - four structure fires, nine vehicle fires and two other fires.

In all, the department saw $172,500 in fire loss - or about $11,500 per fire.

The department also received one false call.

The calls resulted in one civilian non-fire death.
