Williamson County Board of Commissioners met March 10.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Williamson County Board of Commissioners met beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Williamson County Administrative Building Boardroom, Marion, Illinois,

in a regular meeting of the Williamson County Board of Commissioners with the following members present:

Jim Marlo, Chairman

Brent Gentry, Commissioner (by phone)

Ron Ellis, Commissioner

Attest: Amanda Barnes, County Clerk and Recorder

Jerry Ross, IT was present to give an update on the department.

Motion made by Ron Ellis and seconded by Jim Marlo, approving IDOT MFT Audit #61 Receipt and Disbursement TBP funds. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Ron Ellis and seconded by Jim Marlo, approving IDOT MFT Audit #83 Receipt and Disbursement. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Ron Ellis and seconded by Jim Marlo, approving IDOT MFT Audit #61 Receipt and Disbursement of MFT Funds. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Update given by Philip Maddox, Assistant State’s Attorney on trailer on Pittsburg Road. Property owner and trailer owner have given verbal permission to remove and destroy trailer. Commissioner Marlo, has someone that will take it off site and tear down. He is given a two week time limit to do so. If it has not been removed from property by that time the Highway Department will tear down.

Commissioner Ellis asked if there was any interest to bid accounting service. No response.

Motion made by Ron Ellis and seconded by Jim Marlo, approving ORDINANCE NO. 20-01-22-03 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURES FOR BUILDING PERMIT APPLICATIONS. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Treasurer’s Office Invoice-Tabled

Greg Smothers, County Engineer, had a discussion on Southeastern needing permits to do any kind of work on the County’s right of way.

Motion made by Ron Ellis and seconded by Brent Gentry, approving Raffle and Poker Run License for Am Vets #31. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Ron Ellis and seconded by Jim Marlo, approving February 6, 2020 minutes. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Ron Ellis and seconded by Jim Marlo, approving February 11, 2020 minutes. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Ron Ellis and seconded by Jim Marlo, approving February 13, 2020 minutes. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Ron Ellis and seconded by Jim Marlo, approving RESOLUTION NO. 20-03-10-13 SALE TO NEW OWNER-CITY OF MARION 06-24-288-003. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Ron Ellis and seconded by Brent Gentry, approving ORDINANCE NO. 20-03-10-04 AN ORDINANCE FOR THE COUNTY CANNABIS RETAILERS’ OCCUPATION TAX IN WILLIAMSON COUNTY, ILLINOIS. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Ron Ellis and seconded by Brent Gentry, approving RESOLUTION NO. 20-03-10-14 WILLIAMSON COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION BOARD APPOINTMENT FOR GARY HILL AND RUSTY BAKER. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Ron Ellis and seconded by Jim Marlo, approving RESOLUTION NO. 20-03-10-15 FERGES WATER DISTRICT BOARD APPOINTMENT FOR KEVIN CROMPTON. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Ron Ellis and seconded by Brent Gentry, approving Travel Reimbursement for Greg Smothers in the amount of $423.36. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Ron Ellis and seconded by Brent Gentry, approving Travel Reimbursement for Jim Marlo in the amount of $400.29. Roll call vote was taken as follows:

Jim Marlo, Abstain; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present two voting Yea; motion carried.

Resident of Lake of Egypt, Edward Simmons, was present to discuss lowering speed limit on Power Plant and County Club Road.

Commissioner Marlo gave an update on Whiteash. Brian Zeigler is working on getting figures together on upgrading Whiteash sewer system.

Discussion had on roundabout at Blairsville. IDOT monies were designated from a safety grant to construct the roundabout.
